Event planning is a passion of mine. I get excited brainstorming ways to make milestones come to life for people in the form of celebration. My mother and I spent the better part of a 4-day weekend creating silk flower arrangements for one of my nearest and dearest. My girlfriend Alicia's wedding reception is coming up in October and our gift to her was to decorate the place in fall colored hydrangeas. Check out the pic. I dare say it's some of our best work. Silks in bloom indeed.

And away we go...
My nephew Jake is walking! That's right, you heard it here...we have a bi-ped. He starting talking his first intrepid steps last Sunday. And now he's tearing around the house like a madman...sort of. Yes, I'm a proud aunt.
Yes, it's that time again...
Another World of Warcraft weekend has come to pass. We headed over to Dave's house-of-click for a rousing 48 hours of avatar fun. We've even started to break up the weekend meals so everyone brings something home-made (and semi-healthy?) for everyone. Our team is forming quickly; the newest members have broken level 25 and are starting to do dungeon instances. Great loot, better XP. We're driving to level 40 fast (can you say riding mounts?) and have even set up weekday play nights on Mondays. We'll see if they stick.
Update at last...
So it's been a while. Life, as they say, has apparently gotten in the way. I've shirked my blogging duties and I admit it. There. Now moving on...here's an update on the last month: Jason's back is healing nicely; he's not using a cane anymore at all and is nearly off all his medications. There is a permanent position open on Thrivent's help desk, so hopefully Jason is a shoo-in for it. I have also recently put my name in the hat for a new job at Thrivent; we'll keep you posted. Jason of course saw Ironman in the theater; loved it and can't wait for Hulk to come out. Stewart has an ear infection so is incessantly scratching his ears, poor little guy. Now he's the one on meds for the next month (it never ends!). My parents are getting their SD house in order so that they can put it up on the market and finally retire to MN; we've been to SD a couple times to help them sort through mountains of crap, er, heirlooms. Actually, there's lots of cool vintage stuff, so it's been fun walking down memory lane. There you have it. 30 days worth of updates. I'm sure I've missed some things too.
